Be There for Life
To target Zero Harm and communicate the importance, breadth and depth of our safety initiatives we created our 'Be There for Life' programme. The programme is backed up by a broad range of behavioural safety activities and epitomises the principles of our just and fair safety culture and focuses on being better at safety every day.

Be There for Life aims to bring parity to both physical and psychological health and safety in the workplace. The goal is to create an authentic wellbeing culture that is healthier and more inclusive.
We believe that discussing and supporting mental health issues should be as simple and normal as it is for physical health and injuries. We are leading the way in the UK Facilities Management sector in destigmatising this important topic.

Policies and accreditations
EMCOR UK's Health and Safety Policy outlines our whole company commitment to Health and Safety. It demonstrates how health and safety is integral to our values and success.
We were one of only ten companies worldwide to be ISO 45001 certified (Occupational Health and Safety, OH&S) on the first day the standard came into effect. This system enables organisations to proactively and systematically improve OH&S performance, preventing injury and ill-health.
All our Supply Chain Partners are accredited to CHAS and SSIP Safe Contractor standards, providing assurance that party supply chain operates to the health and safety standards our customers and stakeholders expect.
Risk mitigation
We set industry leading standards to deliver active risk mitigation solutions and align to the principles of ISO 31000 (Risk Management). This provides a holistic and comprehensive approach to the application of risk control and operational resilience measures.
