Waste Management

EMCOR UK delivers robust and legally compliant waste management solutions for both hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

Our waste management services, which are bespoke to each customer's needs, are delivered through experienced teams that focus on waste hierarchy, whilst working in accordance with all relevant laws, customer environmental policies, technical guidelines, and standards.

EMCOR UK also looks to extend the life-cycle of equipment through service and maintenance programmes.

Whenever feasible, we attempt to re-use products and components—engaging in tasks like re-distributing furniture, computers, and information technology (IT) equipment.

Food waste is composted and cooking oil is reprocessed as biofuel for use in vehicles. We strive towards delivering a “zero to landfill” target, so landfill is always our last option.

EMCOR UK became the first facilities management provider to be recognised as a Campaign Ambassador for the right Waste, right Place Duty of Care campaign.

Services

EMCOR UK offers both planned and reactive waste management services and manages all waste streams, including recycling, confidential waste, clinical waste, and construction debris. EMCOR UK works across many industries, from engineering and manufacturing to pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and utilities. We also help ensure all services are delivered in line with current legislation.

Tracking Progress

In accordance with the Duty of Care set out in section 34 of the Environment Protection Act 1990 and the Environment Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations 1991, EMCOR UK maintains full and auditable records of all waste services. This is managed using a cradle-to-grave process.

Through EMCOR UK’s real-time management information system, we produce data reports and utilise this information to both innovate and achieve waste management targets, bringing efficiencies and cost savings to our delivery model.

Ongoing Commitment

EMCOR UK was the first facilities management provider to join right Waste, right Place (rWrP) as a campaign ambassador. The rWrP information campaign has been put together to educate businesses and establishments to support them in meeting their Duty of Care obligations. The campaign is managed by the Environmental Services Association and sponsored by the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), and Environmental Services Association Education Trust (ESAET).
