EMCOR Group (UK) Becomes First Facilities Management Provider To Be Awarded BSI Certification in Collaborative Business Relationships
7th April 2010
EMCOR Group (UK) is delighted to announce that it has become the first Facilities Management provider to be awarded PAS 11000 by the BSI. The new Publicly Available Specification is the world's first relationship management standard for creating and maintaining successful business-to-business partnerships and provides a foundation for benchmarking organisations internally and externally, which will drive performance across the industry. EMCOR's clients can now benefit from an independently verified methodology and a proven framework in which to effectively share knowledge, skills, and resources to meet mutually defined objectives. EMCOR UK provides engineering services, facilities management, and sustainable business solutions for a diverse range of private and public sector organisations.
PAS 11000 was initiated by Partnership Sourcing Ltd (PSL), a joint initiative between the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and employer's body, the Confederation of Business Industry (CBI), and provides a strategic framework to improve collaborative relationships, apply good practice principles, and manage valuable business relationships within the supply chain. The specification is based on a multi-phase model encompassing elements such as initial identification of the right partnership route to take, building a joint approach based on mutual advantage, developing added value from the relationship, and measuring and maintaining the relationship for maximum benefit.
EMCOR UK is a member of PSL's executive partnering knowledge network and is one of the first five organisations, and only Facilities Management provider, to achieve the PAS 11000 certification; in doing so it definitively recognises EMCOR's track record in developing long-term client partnerships. The PAS 11000 standard further adds to EMCOR's industry recognition for its strategically aligned and successful client partnerships; specifically, EMCOR has received partnership awards for the last three consecutive years at the Premises and Facilities Management Awards.
Christopher Kehoe, Divisional Director, EMCOR UK commented: "Good relationships are fundamental to delivering measurable value for our clients and we closely engage with our clients to adopt a collaborative approach to facilities management. Our route to success has been through the skill, experience and dedication of a team which is passionate about the service they offer." He added: "Achieving the PAS 11000 certification endorses EMCOR's industry leading partnership approach that meets the highest standard set by BSI."
David Hawkins, Director, PSL added: "Having seen firsthand the successful approach EMCOR adopted it was obvious how their expertise and experience would both test and add value to the programme. Our congratulations to the EMCOR team in achieving the world's first certification against a national relationship management standard."
