EMCOR Group (UK) Receives Prestigious Premises & Facilities Management Award For Work With Natural History Museum
---Third Consecutive Year That EMCOR Has Received A PFM Award---
EMCOR Group (UK) is proud to announce that it has jointly won a prestigious industry award at this year's Premises and Facilities Management (PFM) Awards in the 'Partners in Public Access' category for its partnership with the Natural History Museum, one of London's most iconic institutions. EMCOR UK and the Natural History Museum accepted the award at a special ceremony held at The Brewery in London and attended by over 600 facilities management professionals. This is the third consecutive year that EMCOR UK has received an award at the PFM Awards; last year's award was for a partnership with NATS, the UK's leading air traffic management provider. EMCOR UK provides engineering services, facilities management and sustainable business solutions for a diverse range of private and public sector organisations and government.
Now in its 16th year, the PFM Awards are among the most sought after accolades in the facilities management sector. EMCOR UK, together with the Natural History Museum, secured the award in the highly competitive Partners in Public Access category after demonstrating a strategically aligned and successful partnership with the Museum, specifically in the areas of innovation, sustainability and long-term record of achievement.
The judges commented: "This is a good example of a true working partnership which was demonstrated at our visit, timed just one week before the public opening of the Darwin Centre. Despite being a very busy time, both teams demonstrated through their partnership that they were fully in charge of their facility at such a stressful time."
Mr Nick Morris, Managing Director, EMCOR Facilities Services, commented: "We are extremely pleased to be recognised with this prestigious award. EMCOR UK's innovative approach to facilities management has resulted in significant improvements and efficiencies across the estate, which we will continue to pursue as we work alongside the Museum to support its long-term strategic goals."
EMCOR has worked with the Natural History Museum since 2001; services include building, engineering and grounds maintenance, project services, and event support management. EMCOR's contract with the Natural History Museum includes the main Waterhouse building in South Kensington, which is Grade I listed inside and out, and was recently extended to include the new Darwin Centre, which opened to visitors in September. The Darwin Centre is a state-of-the-art scientific research and collection storage facility that is used by the world's leading scientists and includes a public gallery that invites visitors to see the scientists at work and explore the natural world in an exciting and innovative way.
