The entire construction phase of 30 Gresham Street, a 36,000 square metre commercial development spanning 10 office floors and three retails units, took just 72 weeks, including commissioning. EMCOR UK was responsible for design, co-ordination and installation of the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Engineering services and delivered innovative construction engineering and mechanical solutions on time in partnership with Sir Robert McAlpine. To meet the fast-track construction programme EMCOR UK developed a prefabrication strategy, which included the use of pipe racks to serve the ceiling mounted Fan Coil Units and also vertical riser modules. The modules, which included a mechanical plant, were craned into riser shafts two-storey sections.
