At EMCOR UK, we have a dedicated team of recruiters who handle the full recruitment process within the UK from advertising the vacancy through to making an offer to the successful applicant, confirming a start date and induction.
We receive your application (usually in the format of a CV) either through our online careers page or via our preferred supplier list of recruitment agencies. All applications are assessed against skills criteria set out within the job description.
The hiring manager reviews the short list of applications received from the recruitment department, providing feedback to them on who they would like to interview and reasons for declining applications. The recruitment department provides feedback to the unsuccessful candidates and invites those who are successful in for a face to face interview.
Interviews are conducted by the hiring manager and another manager in support. Once the interviews have been conducted the hiring manager will select the suitable candidate and inform the recruitment department of their decision. The recruitment department will contact the successful candidate to make a verbal offer and arrange for a written contract to be sent out.
Your CV will be kept on our records for a period of at least 6 months. Your details will not be passed on to any other third parties and will only remain within the EMCOR UK's database.
Yes; to do so you'll need to email quoting the job title and reference number or location of the role you applied for. Our recruiters will remove your application against this specific role, but you will still be registered on our candidate database.

Every candidate who joins EMCOR UK will receive a full and dedicated induction. This includes both a site induction which is specific to your place of work and a corporate introduction to the business which will give you an overview of EMCOR UK as an organisation. Both inductions will ensure you have all the knowledge you need to be able to perform your role to the best of your ability.
The benefits offered are dependent upon the contract you are assigned to and the role you are recruited for.
If you are selected for an interview a member of the recruitment department will contact you either via email or by phone to arrange a suitable time to attend. Interviews are held at the location of the job role to ensure applicants have seen their potential place of work.
At EMCOR UK, we conduct competency based interviews during which the interviewer will ask you for specific examples of how you have handled or would handle situations and work related tasks. All our hiring managers have been interview trained to ensure, as a company, all our selection decisions are made through an objective assessment of each applicant’s merits . Interviews last between 1 – 2 hours and answers provided to the questions asked are scored against a matrix.
