Programme Overview
In the UK, it is estimated that over 100,000 children go missing every year - that's approximately one child every 5 minutes.
On 31 October 2006, EMCOR Group (UK) launched its EMCOR.Taking KidSafety to the Street ™ campaign with New Scotland Yard’s NPIA (National Policing Improvement Agency) Missing Persons Bureau and children’s charity PACT (Parents and Abducted Children Together). The programme’s aim is to help find missing children, promote child safety and become the cornerstone of EMCOR’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The core programme consists of posters featuring missing children which are placed on our fleet of hundreds of vehicles, in our offices and on our major sites. This has received very positive feedback from staff, customers and even members of the general public applauding the initiative - evidence that people really are taking notice. It is the first successful moving billboard awareness campaign for missing children in the UK. To support the poster programme, EMCOR also generates press coverage for the cases of the children featured.
