This is part of a £34m refurbishment of Liverpool Museum, a listed building whichwill eventually double the size of the Museum. Many new features are beingincorporated including a six-storey glass topped central atrium with a ground levelentrance area and new galleries that will host various new exhibitions andattractions. Meticulous care was required for the M&E installations due to thedelicate properties of a number of exhibits.


EMCOR Engineering Services Ltd were responsible for the full M&E installationcomprising separate Air Handling Plant to supply conditioned air to individualzones. Fan coil units chosen to aesthetically suit their surroundings, chillers,boilers, and pressurisation plant. Ventilation ducting consisted of sheet steel; firerated for smoke extract systems and plastic for the Aquarium area. The electricalinstallation comprised specialist lighting with scenic control panels, fire alarm, P.A.system, data voice system, a new security control room with intruder alarm,CCTV, door entry control system and full video recording facilities.
