FACILITY PROJECT BACKGROUND
BAE SYSTEMS designs, manufactures and supports military aircraft, surface ships, submarines, space systems, radar, avionics, communications, electronics, guided weapon systems and a range of other defense products.
EMCOR FACILITY SERVICES (EFS) OBJECTIVES
- To deliver sufficient financial efficiencies/savings against current site spend to satisfy procurement.
- To clearly demonstrate to BAE’s site facilities team that we could manage the business critical assets, without exposing them to downtime of business, health and life safety legislation.
- To demonstrate our proven operations and facilities management experience in maintaining operating airfields.
- One of the key challenges was winning over “hearts and minds” of the BAE staff as this represented a change in the current operational culture.
- Instigating a single health & life safety system across all sites, as each of the sites had its own life safety system with little or no commonality.
- Satisfying each of BAE’s sites that we could professionally manage and operate all of the permit to work systems.
