EMCOR ENGINEERING SERVICES VALUE DELIVERED
This is part of a £34m refurbishment of Liverpool Museum, a listed building which will eventually double the size of the Museum. Many new features are being incorporated including a six-storey glass topped central atrium with a ground level entrance area and new galleries that will host various new exhibitions and attractions. Meticulous care was required for the mechanical & electrical (M&E) installations due to the delicate properties of a number of exhibits.
EMCOR Engineering Services Ltd were responsible for the full M&E installation comprising separate Air Handling Plant to supply conditioned air to individual zones. Fan coil units chosen to aesthetically suit their surroundings, chillers, boilers, and pressurisation plant. Ventilation ducting consisted of sheet steel; fire rated for smoke extract systems and plastic for the Aquarium area. The electrical installation comprised specialist lighting systems with scenic control panels, fire alarm systems, P.A. system, data voice system, a new security control room with intruder alarm systems, CCTV, door entry control system and full video recording facilities.
