UNIVERSITY OF EAST ANGLIA FACILITIES BACKGROUND
INTO University Partnerships is a unique, university-based initiative that prepares international students for undergraduate and postgraduate study in the UK.
INTO University of East Anglia is a joint venture being undertaken by INTO and the University of East Anglia. The building provides teaching, living, eating and social space for more than 400 international students. The students study academic and English Language pathway programmes to prepare them for degree courses at UK universities.
EMCOR Engineering Services UK have carried out a significant number of projects on the UEA campus. In addition to the student accommodation blocks, we have previously successfully completed the Bio Medical Research Centre, ZICER Building and the Sports Park complex amongst others. EMCOR UK has a long and successful relationship with RG Carters and the UEA.

EMCOR ENGINEERING SERVICES VALUE DELIVERED
In order to ensure a seamless transition from design/build to construction, EMCOR UK were fully involved in the design development process in order to contribute constructional and practical solutions at an early stage. This involved full attendance at all design review meetings. The construction engineering development posed tight programme constraints to ensure the overseas students had a fully functioning building at the commencement of the new academic year.
The building services concept with raised floors for services distribution, together with displacement ventilation systems, set a huge challenge to coordinate the services and fully integrate them into the architect’s concept.
An interesting aspect of this project is the partnership between the university and INTO. Additionally, of course, the opportunity to set the benchmark and be involved with further developments throughout the UK gives us an opportunity to develop relationships with the end user client.
