TRINITY HALL STUDENT FACILITIES BACKGROUND
Three blocks of new accommodation for 155 students and fellows including a porter's lodge and gardener’s compound. On account of the location being in a predominately residential area within Cambridge, the college demanded stringent standards on all aspects of the development. The three storey buildings are of traditional brick construction with the roof space being used to contain some of the mechanical services plant including air handling units with heat recovery facilities. Each block contains three separate house blocks which have a separate kitchen and living area on each level.

EMCOR ENGINEERING SERVICES VALUE DELIVERED
A significant architectural feature of the development are the ‘chimneys’, incorporated in the roof structure (see front picture). These chimneys were the architectural solution to the problem of ventilation intake and terminations, and an example of special measures required as previously referred to. They involved extensive coordination to meet with the architects concept, as well as satisfying services needs. EMCOR provided the full range of mechanical, electrical & public health engineering services to the student residences and porters lodge at Trinity Hall.
Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom which was delivered to site in pod form. Again, the success of the construction engineering project was in no small part due to the incorporation of these pods, manufactured off site and fully integrated within the finished building.
