Keith Chanter Group Finance Director

 

Keith graduated in Industrial Economics at Nottingham University in 1976 and went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in the London office of Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now PWC) in 1982. In 1984 he was promoted to manager in the audit department, but decided to leave for an industrial career in 1986 when he joined BOC PLC, a global industrial gases company, as Corporate Accountant.

 

In 1989, he was promoted to the Bulk and Tonnage business units of BOC with the prime responsibility of reviewing and evaluating major capital investments across Continental Europe and advising the commercial departments on pricing and tendering decisions. After this period he spent three years working in an operating company as Finance Director, with a specific remit to evaluate and drive improvements in branch productivity.

 

After a two year period in Central Finance, reviewing accounting policies and assisting the cylinder gas businesses with national account tenders, he moved to the UK/US Process Plant division as Finance Director to improve project and accounting controls for the engineering, procurement and construction arm of BOC.

 

In 1997, he moved to Bristow Helicopters Group as Group Finance Director with responsibility for strategy formulation, post merger integration, Finance and IT departments. He was promoted to CEO in 1999 to lead a turnaround of this business where he stayed until 2004.

 

In 2005, he formed a consultancy business, teaming up with corporate finance partners in London, to review and select potential acquisition targets.

 

He joined EMCOR as Group Finance Director in July 2007.
